The NHB Scholarship supports passionate individuals who want to turn that interest into an exciting and meaningful career in Singapore’s culture and heritage sector.

The scholarship supports full-time postgraduate (Master’s) studies across a range of disciplines that can equip you with the knowledge and skills to contribute to Singapore’s heritage landscape.

Areas of study may include:

  • Archaeology

  • Conservation

  • Museum Studies and Museum Education

  • Curatorial Studies

  • History, particularly Singapore and Southeast Asian History

  • Cultural and Heritage Management

  • Design History

Whether you see yourself uncovering stories from the past, caring for treasured collections, curating exhibitions, engaging communities, or finding new ways to make heritage relevant to future generations, the NHB Scholarship can be your first step towards a meaningful career in culture and heritage.

The NHB Scholarship is open to Singaporeans who are planning to pursue a full-time postgraduate (Master’s) programme in Singapore or overseas.

If you are awaiting admission to a postgraduate (Master’s) programme, you are also welcome to apply. Proof of admission will need to be provided at the time of the scheduled interview.

We are looking for individuals who are curious, passionate and excited about contributing to Singapore’s culture and heritage sector.

Applications will be considered holistically, taking into account:

  • Academic achievements and co-curricular involvement

  • Passion for culture and heritage

  • The relevance and potential of your chosen programme, including how it could contribute to Singapore’s culture and heritage sector and your own development

  • Your achievements, experiences and track record, including relevant experience where applicable
