The Ministry of Home Affairs Civilian Scholarship is awarded to all-rounded individuals who are passionate about strengthening Singapore’s safety and security in a civilian appointment. Depending on your interests and aspirations, you can choose from a range of meaningful and rewarding career options as a Generalist or Specialist (Commercial Affairs, Intelligence, Internal Security, Psychology).

Eligibility
Applicants must:
Be Singapore Citizens, or Permanent Resident intending to take up Singapore Citizenship
Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and potential
Have good academic and Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) records
Possess strong interest in safeguarding the safety and security of Singapore
GCE A-levels; or
International Baccalaureate; or
NUS High School Diploma; or
Polytechnic Diploma with merit; or
Other high school diploma or equivalent.
You may apply prior to receiving your final examination results. A provisional scholarship offer may be made if you are found suitable, subject to confirmation upon the release of your final results.
For Mid-Term Scholarships, the following criteria would additionally apply:
Currently pursuing full-time undergraduate studies and on track for graduation with at least 2nd Upper Honours or equivalent;
Have completed at least one semester and not in the final year of undergraduate studies at point of application.
Scholarship holders may study at local or overseas universities and choose to read from a diverse range of courses (except Medicine, Dentistry and Architecture) relevant to the Public Service (subject to MHA’s approval). If you pursue a Law degree, you will not be called to the Bar while serving in the Home Team.
For the Commercial Affairs track, you will have to pursue a degree in Accountancy, Law, Business Administration, Business or Economics. For the Psychology track, you will have to pursue a degree in Psychology.
